Querido sambista brasileiro perder a vida aos 68 anos de idade após complicações do diabetes
Foi nesse último domingo dia 23 de janeiro, que faleceu Potoka, que é o sambista Genivaldo Fernandes Mendonça. O músico já não estava bem e nos últimos dias de vida, ele estava internado em um hospital, pois, ele vinha tendo muitas complicações devido ao diabetes e nesse domingo ele acabou não resistindo a essas complicações.
O sambista é natural do estado do Rio de Janeiro, mas, já vivia em Brasília que fica no Distrito Federal, por 40 anos, depois que ele se mudou nunca mais quis sair de lá. O sambista também acumula vários sucessos ao longo de sua vida, fora os seus oito discos que foram lançados durante a sua carreira.
Outro Dom que Potoka tinha, era para ser comunicador de rádio, e ele foi por muito tempo o apresentador do programa QG do samba, o qual ele mesmo criou, e era transmitido nas rádios Cultura FM e Guará FM, também no Distrito Federal. Ele também é um dos responsáveis pela fundação da escola de samba Império do Guará.
Mas, nos últimos anos de sua vida, ele se dedicou somente a sua web rádio Lobo Guará, muito conhecida por focar e falar somente sobre o samba, o gênero musical que sempre foi o grande amor de sua vida. Ele aproveitava inclusive para divulgar novos sambistas na rádio.
Johnson Rodrigues, que era um dos companheiros de Potoka fez questão de falar sobre o amigo, todos estão muito abalados com a perda do músico: “O samba de Brasília está de luto. Ele parte deixando-nos muitas lições de amor, amizade, profissionalismo, ética e humanidade.”
